First Time Visitor

If you're planning to visit our church, we would love to meet you and help you feel right at home. We realize that new situations can be difficult and overwhelming - even at church!

If you’re comfortable, please let us know you’re here by filling out the connect card below.

Worship Service

We have two services on Sunday mornings, and we follow an intentional liturgy that includes musical worship, confession of sin and absolution, preaching of God’s Word, Lord’s Supper, and benediction.

Hard of hearing? In order to help everyone worship on Sunday mornings, Assistive Listening Devices are available upon request for anyone that requires them.  Please see a greeter at any of the doors, and they will be able to get one for you.

Accessibility needs? If you are in need of a wheelchair or handicap accessible entrance, please enter the building at Door 4 on the south side of the building. There is handicap parking in our west parking lot.

When and where do you meet?

Grace Chapel meets at 16th & A Streets on Sundays mornings (1345 S 16th St, Lincoln, NE 68502). During the school year, we gather at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Our worship times differ throughout the summer months. Enter the building through Door 1 off of 16th Street or Door 4 off of A Street.

Where do I park?

We have two parking lots at Grace Chapel. One is east of Grace Chapel at the corner of 16th and A, and the other is west of our church building at the corner of Goodhue Blvd and A. There is also plenty of street parking available.

What offerings do you have for children & youth?

Children’s check-in can be found in the northeast corner of the Great Hall (the large room off of the sanctuary). Someone will greet you and walk you through the children's check-in process. Be sure to stop here first before your child heads to any of our children’s ministries.

Nursery is available for 0-3 year-olds during the entire service. The nursery is located on the daycare (west) side of the building on the 1st floor.

Children’s Church is for kids 4-6 years old and is available during our second service only. Kids will be dismissed during the worship service after the children’s message and escorted by our children’s ministry director and/or volunteers. Parents pick them up after the service.

Children’s & Youth Sunday School meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in between our services.

Your children are also more than welcome to stay with you during the service!

Lastly, we have a Family Room off of the sanctuary for any families who need a break from worship or space to get some energy out.

FAQs

What is a PCA church?

The Presbyterian Church in America was established in 1973 due to its constituents desire for denomination with a scriptural, evangelical, and Reformed witness to Christ. The PCA seeks to be scriptural in both its government and its doctrine. The form of church government we believe is most biblical is called "Presbyterian." This means the local churches are governed by "presbyters," or elders, who are elected by the people. The PCA's doctrinal beliefs are "Reformed." We earnestly strive to follow Christ and His Apostles. We believe that the purest expressions of scriptural doctrine are found in the Calvinistic creeds - particularly the Westminster Confession of Faith and the companion works the Larger and Shorter Cathechisms. We are "conservative," but we are not old fashioned! We hold to the faith of the Bible and of our fathers, but we strive to proclaim God's truth as imaginatively, creatively and relevantly as possible.

Do I have to be a Christian to attend Grace Chapel?

Absolutely not. We welcome people from all walks of life, whether they agree with our particular beliefs or not. We love a good discussion and are seekers of Truth. Try us out!

What is Grace Chapel's history?

Grace Chapel is the daughter church of Zion Church (formerly Covenant Presbyterian Church). We began meeting as a congregation at our first building at 40th & Sheridan in October of 2000 under the leadership of Mike Hsu. In the fall of 2013, Mike Hsu responded to a call to serve at Grace Church in Vancouver, BC. At that time Ben Loos was voted our Senior Pastor. God continues to bless both Zion Church and Grace Chapel as both congregations embrace a vision for the future planting of daughter churches in Lincoln, throughout Nebraska, and even the world.

When and where do you meet?

Grace Chapel meets at 16th & A Street on Sundays mornings. We gather at 8:00 and 10:45 a.m.

Will I fit in at Grace Chapel?

Most likely! We have a wide diversity of people at Grace. From university students, young families, and professionals to grandparents and retirees, our services are full of vibrant people from all walks of life. Grab a cup of coffee in the Great Hall and stay awhile; you're sure to find yourself in friendly conversation.

What should I wear?

While suits and ties are sometimes seen here, we are by no means a "high church" congregation. Our pastors typically wear khakis or jeans and a button down shirt at the pulpit; a mix of jeans, slacks, and skirts can all be found in the pews.
