Ian Johnson was born in Lincoln and has lived here since that, enlightened. His history with Grace Chapel is long and prestigious. As a very young person, Ian attended Covenant Presbyterian, the original church at 40th and Sheridan. He followed the move to Zion at 9th and D and in 2001 ended up where he started, at the church plant that is now Grace Chapel. He attended for about 2 months before he began his training and employment as the man behind the sound board.
An undisclosed source has described Ian as “the most obliging sound guy I’ve ever known.” And while he may not be very visible on Sunday mornings (he remains hidden behind the sound booth), Ian keeps the ship afloat in numerous ways every week. Ian lives with his new wife Elana. They were married at Grace Chapel on September 2, 2006. In his spare time, Ian likes to play his many instruments, practice his ninja skills, and quote Clint Eastwood movies. Interesting fact: Ian has lived within a mile and a half radius of Grace Chapel his whole life.
