Ben Loos, Assistant Pastor

Ben Loos

Pastor Ben Loos is a twenty-eight year old sinner saved by grace and his life has been steady journey that has consisted of learning the implications of that truth more deeply and fully, day-by-day.  He has been married to his bride (and better half) Katie since July 2005 and they live with their cockapoo, Coltrane, who is uber cute, super sassy, and very, very spoiled.  Ben graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida in 2008 and is blessed to be serving at Grace Chapel in his hometown of Lincoln.

Ben enjoys good wine, good company, good books, bad sci-fi films, and indie rock and roll.  He is convinced that Bruce Springsteen’s 1975 classic Thunder Road is a near perfect rock song and considers Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, the Boss and Bono to be some of his closest friends. Still, the song that has captured his heart and rules his life is the gospel of Jesus Christ and his Kingdom. Ben has been captivated by this composition and longs to see it performed before a world that for too long has been contented with muzak, darkness and cacophony. Ben longs for the day when all of God’s renewed creation– his retuned orchestra – will take up this kingdom song:

Shout to the Lord, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy! Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King! The Lord has announced his victory and has revealed his righteousness to every nation. He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel.  The whole earth has seen the salvation of our God.
Psalm 98
